Omonile as they are known in Lagos Nigeria connotes the Traditional or Indigenes Owners of Landed Properties and because of the so many crises these people have generated in the past, they are mostly being afraid of by potential Land Buyers.  Many is scarce to come by nowadays, hence people are being careful of buying lands that they eventually loss to the same people they bought it from.

When dealing with Omoniles, ask cogent and specific questions that will save you from enough troubles in the future and when making payments, ensure that you document the whole process.  Take pictures with the people involved, write down your agreement, do video recording (if necessary) of your final conversation and collect your receipt.  Take immediate possession of your Land no matter how small by putting some number of blocks or you could make foundation if you are financially buoyant enough.
